Introducing Blue-Bot, the Bluetooth floor robot. It's the upgrade for Bee-Bot, featuring bluetooth connectivity making your floor robot app enabled! This Robot will bring logic-driven decision making, the very nature of programming, to your student. They can program the BlueBot via the app (all platforms supported) or using the in-built controls to create their own movement based programs and scripts.

  • Interactive Coding - Using the buttons on the Blue-bots shell, you can enter a sequence of directions and have the Blue-bot perform your 'program'. Great for critical thinking development.
  • Rechargeable, Reusable - The Blue-Bot comes with a USB cable for recharging, but is completely compatible with Bee-Bot docking stations.
  • Bee-Bot compatible - Blue-bot is compatible with all the mats and accessories (and Learning Resources) from Bee-Bot programmable robots
  • Free apps - With free apps on iOS and Android, you can connect and program your Blue-Bot with any modern smart device/tablet/laptop/PC
  • Improved turns and movements - With 45 degree turns being added to the collection of moves, student will be able to program for more shapes/puzzles.
  • See what makes things move - The transparent case allows students to see the parts inside moving and interacting to develop an intuitive sense of what makes robots move.
  • See and Say - Blue-Bot See & Say can also detect and respond with either a beep or a pre-recorded message when encountering another See & Say Bee-Bot or Blue-Bot.

Using Blue-Bots in the Classroom

Once you're familiar with the Blue-Bot controls and app, you can set forth on planning some lessons around it! Some great ideas we've seen are:

  1. Using the project mats and obstacles, work in teams to program Blue-Bot from one side of the mat to the other.
  2. Using a blank mat/floor space, have students program Blue-Bot to draw different shapes in groups
  3. Have a maze group and a blue-bot group. The maze group designs a maze on paper that the challenge group has to program blue-bot to navigate.
  4. Use Blue-Bot to create and traverse a number line and do basic addition subtraction
  5. Estimation techniques (how many BlueBot steps from A to B)
